
Youth Leadership Bartlett is a community leadership program which identifies and assists talented students who want to learn more about the challenges facing their school and community. The program teaches students how to make better decisions and encourages them to be more involved and to assume leadership roles within their school and community.
The Youth Leadership Bartlett was founded in 1997 and is a program of the Bartlett Chamber Foundation and Leadership Bartlett Alumni Association.

Program Includes
Team Building/Ropes Course – This required Session is teaches team building and exploring leadership styles.
Local Government/Community Participation - Promotes understanding the role of local government; teaches community awareness and participation, and encourages school leadership activities. Class has dinner with Mayor and Board of Aldermen closing the session with attending the Board of Aldermen meeting. This session is held at Bartlett City Hall
Public /Civil Safety - Includes a tour of Police and Fire Departments to demonstrate the complexities of the job of protecting our city. We begin at Bartlett Police Station and end at the Fire Station
Career Opportunity/Job Shadow - Each Student will “shadow” someone in a career field of interest.
Leadership Development - Attend and assist with the Veteran’s Day ceremony at Veterans’ Memorial Park proceeding to scheduled sessions upon completion of ceremony.
Personal/Financial Responsibility - Bartlett Station Municipal Center, We focus on life skills - taking responsibility for personal actions; managing money and credit cards and job interviews/resumes.
Service Project - Youth Villages, visit the facility for a day of interaction and lunch with the residents of Youth Village.
Peer Mediation - Bartlett Station Municipal Center, teaches problem solving skills, making decisions and identification of personality traits.
Economic Development - Familiarize students with career opportunities available within their community and to recognize the value of strong leadership skills.
State Government - Overnight trip to Nashville, promotes understanding of the role of state government and awareness of the need for positive leaders.
Staying Healthy - Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett, this session provides students the advantages of a well-balanced life through nutrition, physical and mental fitness.
Graduation Reception - Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center, recognizes the students successfully completing the Youth Leadership Bartlett Program.
How Much to Pay
Tuition cost for each student is $250.00, the total cost per student is $550; the remaining $300 is provided through corporate and private donations.
